Summer Sunday Tapas: 4pm–8pm.

The Beer Engine is a laidback pub where you can enjoy exceptional craft beers from the best and most innovative breweries, kept and served with the care and attention they deserve.

Our range includes regular and guest ales, as well as continental lagers, cider and a quality selection of wines and spirits.

Our beers

We have guests on 6 hand-pulled cask beer pumps and 12 (yes, 12!) keg lines. Guests will often be from breweries that have not been seen much in Sheffield.

So far we’ve included brews from the likes of Bad Seed, Buxton, Marble, Siren, Harviestoun, Tiny Rebel, Darkstar, Whitstable Bay, Raw, Exit 33, The Hop Studio, Animal Brewing Co., Brick Brewery, Magic Rock, Hand Drawn Monkey…

To keep up to date with what’s on your best bet is to come in. Failing that try our Twitter account @BeerEngineSheff.

Our regulars include Estrella, Oranjeboom (4%), Bitburger, Erdinger Weisse, Young’s London (Road) Stout and Aspell’s cider.

We have an eclectic selection of bottles.

Food

We have a proper chef, so the food is excellent too. Everything is made in-house, even the ketchup. The regular menu consists of tapas-style small plates that complement the beer. Just have a plate if you want a snack, or have a few and make a meal out of it.

It’s slightly different every week, so if it’s not what’s shown below, it will be something very much like it.

Beer garden

The large beer yard is being turned into a beer garden. It’s a great spot for summer drinking. There is a covered and heated area, and canopies over some tables so you can enjoy drinking and eating outdoors, whatever the weather.

Who are we?

The man behind The Beer Engine is Tom Harrington. He’s from Sheffield and he knows his beer. He’s most recently worked for Thornbridge Brewery’s pub operation and has also worked in such beacons of beer excellence as the Sheaf View and Hillsborough Hotel.
